It is a comprehensive method that teaches all of the key aspects of French bowing technique. Learning to use the bow is an essential skill for all bassists and this method can be applied in many styles of music, not just classical.
The 70 video lessons are presented in a step-by-step order giving you a clear and logical route though the course material. Starting right at the beginning with the very basics it covers all of the key bowing techniques you need to know.
The course is comprised of three sections covering a wide range of bowing topics. From the fundamentals of technique to a detailed look at more advanced material such as off the string strokes, everything you need is all in one place.
Lauren Pierce is our classical double bass expert. Well known for her virtuosic solo double bass performances on YouTube, she is also a world leading educator. She’s here to inspire and educate to help you play your best music.
This course includes membership of the ‘Discover Double Bass Study Group’ so you can ask questions and get the help you need. The Study Group is a ‘closed’ Facebook group in which only bassists who have bought a course can ask questions or view the discussion. It’s a private community of like minded double bassists who are looking to develop their playing, be more creative and produce their very best music. If you need help along the way, Lauren Pierce, Geoff Chalmers and other group members will be there to answer your questions and get you back on track!
Whilst the lessons start from the very basics more advanced players will also have plenty to work on as the course progresses.
