Will these lessons work on four string bass?

Yes! Adam Ben Ezra plays a five string double bass with a high C string but throughout this course, he only uses the four strings of a regular double bass (E, A, D & G). This means the lessons are easy to follow and you can use exactly the same fingerings on your four string bass.

You don't have to be able to sight-read to take this course, but we have included transcriptions of the exercises for those who would like them (84 pages of sheet music). These PDFs are displayed on the lessons pages and can be downloaded if required.
